Europe Comics @ Toronto Comic Arts Festival

news

March 30, 2018

This May, Europe Comics is heading to the Toronto Comic Arts Festival! This will be the first time Europe Comics brings its creators to TCAF, and what a lineup of creators it is!

The legendary Lewis Trondheim will be there with Europe Comics to promote his noir gem Maggy Garrisson (illustrated by Stéphane Oiry) as well as his classic series The Marvelous Adventures of McConey & Cosmonauts of the Future (illustrated by Manu Larcenet). And together with Brigitte Findakly (whose visit to Toronto is supported by TCAF), Trondheim will be promoting Poppies of Iraq (published by Drawn and Quarterly).

Belgian scriptwriter and artist Wauter Mannaert will be in Toronto with the support of the Flemish Literature Fund promoting his series El Mesias (co-created with Mark Bellido and originally published by Ballon Media), as well as his latest graphic novel Weegee: Serial Photographer, with writer Max de Radiguès, published by Canada’s Conundrum Press.

Spaniard Nico Naranjo will be with Europe Comics to promote his fantastic Toucan Patrol (originally published by Dibbuks). And we of course need to mention the presence of another European comics legend — David B. — who will be in Toronto with NBM Publishing, and whose Reading the Ruins joined the Europe Comics catalog in April.
