The second-largest comics festival in Europe, and the third-largest in the world has run every year since 1974. More than 200,000 visitors come each year to the fair, including between 6,000 and 7,000 professionals and 800 journalists. The four-day festival is also notable for awarding several prestigious industry prizes.
For this year’s Angoulême Comics Festival, the BWA Art Gallery is presenting the works of Poland’s leading contemporary comics creators. Leading up to the festival, their works will be shared online along with information about Polish comics and original videos, on the BWA Art Gallery Facebook page (see link above). Later on, during the festival, the on-site exhibition will feature artists, publishers, and specialists in the field of comics, allowing visitors to learn about Polish comics and take home a free print catalog (exact dates and location to be announced).
