Sara del Giudice

Artist & Scriptwriter

Sara was born in Milan in 1998. She has always dreamed of becoming a children's book author. She studied illustration at the IED in Milan and then went on to study comics at EESI in Angoulême for her master's degree. With this knowledge and training, she began working on her first comic book, Derrière le rideau (Dargaud, 2022; Behind the Curtain in English, Europe Comics), which evokes Anne Frank's diary. She was inspired by Barbara Yelin's comic book Irmina, in particular for the settings that are anchored in the same historical period, by Sempé and his Petit Nicolas, and by the colors used by Marie Muravski. She considers the works of Cézanne and Toulouse-Lautrec as timeless models. For the texts, she drew inspiration from the works of Fred Uhlman, Teresa Radice, and Andrea Molesini with her book La primavera del lupo (The spring of the wolf).
