International Book Festival Budapest hosts about 100 authors from 25 countries, including more than 400 Hungarian authors, scientists, and artists, and offers a wide range of cultural programs, such as meetings with authors, signing sessions, book premiers and presentations, roundtable discussions, concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions and films. The Book Festival is also a professional and business forum, and the Librarians’ Club is one of its special features. The festival counts about 60.000 visitors annually.
Art Bubble – Denmark’s friendliest comics festival!
This year’s edition will take place September 22-23 (Aarhus, at Dokk1) and will feature a fantastic guest line-up including Hermann, Niko Henrichon, Philippe Luguy, Wilma van den Bosch, Paul Lee, Yoann, Yves Rodier, Peter Madsen, Lars Jakobsen, as well as a delegation from Toronto Comics Arts Festival, inclunding Sean Karemaker, Jillian Fleck and Shawn Daley.
The Vancouver Comic Arts Festival is comprised of comics-related events, including readings, presentations, panel discussions, and a large exhibition area featuring publishers and comic authors and artists. This year’s event includes three accomplished French comic creators, with the support of Europe Comics and the French Consulate in Vancouver: Lewis Trondheim & Brigitte Findakly,(Cosmonauts of the Future, Marvelous Adventures of McConey), and Yvan Alagbé.
Brigitte Findakly and Lewis Trondheim, the brilliant pair behind Poppies of Iraq (published by Drawn & Quarterly), will be touring Canada this May! Come meet them at the Alliance Française in Vancouver on May 18th at 7 pm.
