The Leipzig Book Fair is the second largest book fair in Germany after the Frankfurt Book Fair. The fair takes place annually over four days at the Leipzig Trade Fairground in the northern part of Leipzig, Saxony. It is the first large trade meeting of the year and as such it plays an important role in the market and is often where new publications are first presented.
Comic Con Baltics is an annual popular culture event organised in Vilnius, Lithuania. This year it’ll take place on September 15-16, at the LITEXPO exhibition centre. The key words you need to know: famous actors; the biggest Cosplay competition in Baltic states; panels; presentation of the newest Lithuanian film projects; comics; kids game zone; games and newest technologies; props from cult films. Most importantly – it is a place, where heroes meet!

The Night of Philosophy and Ideas is an all-night marathon of philosophical debate, performances, screenings, readings, and music, including top philosophers from around the world. The event will also feature celebrated graphic novelist Jul, author of Uh-Oh, Plato! (Dargaud, Europe Comics in English). His event, “Laughter, Image, and Philosophy,” will take place Sunday morning at 4 am, where Jul will show in just a few steps how his work as an illustrator and humorist meets the pleasure of thought in motion.

Technology and regulation affect the sector in ways that can represent a threat or an advantage. A panel of experts discuss the topic as part of the COMIKS project.
