Erik Juszezak

Artist

Erik Juszezak has been drawing since he was a child... And yet, owing to a lack of support within his family, he had no choice but to teach himself. He began his professional life in art studios and learned on the job, going from execution to illustration via layout. In 1986, his graphic activities increased. He illustrated Hachette’s Livres-jeux dont vous êtes le héros, then co-wrote an interactive comic book, Les Crocs d’Ebène, for the publisher Glénat, as well as Les Héritiers for the publisher Vents d’Ouest. At the same time, he illustrated the comics pastiche Les nuls published by Albin Michel. Since 1992, Erik Juszezak has been providing illustrations for Hachette’s Bibliothèque Verte collection as well as doing various illustrations for advertising. Later in the 1990s he illustrated the series Beaux rivages, written by Patrick Cothias for the publisher Dargaud. And in October 1998, he began Oki for the publisher Glénat (Bulle Noire collection) based on a script by Christian Godard. In 2005, Erik Juszezak deployed his talents in realism for various major projects. This included drawings for the first volume of Narvalo (Dargaud), a series about espionage and science fiction, for the multi-faceted writer Yann. At Dupuis, Juszezak used his entire breadth of talents to create the fifth volume of the ambitious Pandora Box series, written by Alcante, bringing to life a great guru of international finance. And in 2007, he teamed up with writers Philippe Guillaume and Pierre Boisserie to create the series Dantes (Dargaud 2007, Europe Comics 2017), a thriller that takes place in the heart of the stock market.
