Alessio Spataro

Artist

Alessio Spataro is a satirical illustrator and comic book artist, born in Sicily in 1977. Since 1999 he has been working for the Italian press and for comics magazines such as Cuore, Schizzo, Frigidaire, Liberazione, L’Isola Possibile, Mamma! and Il Male. As a satire cartoonist he has released seven books, including Non più estate (2007, Centro Fumetto Andrea Pazienza), Dark Country (2008, Self Comics), and Zona del Silenzio (2009, Minimum Fax). Biliardino (2015, BAO Publishing) was his first graphic novel as writer and artist. With BAO he has also released Violeta - Corazón maldito (2017; Europe Comics in English, 2018), together with writer Virginia Tonfoni. He now lives and works in Rome.
